Shakespeare's Birthday 2017
Shakespeare's birthday is one of the biggest draws all year round for Stratford. Flags and many representatives of countries from round the world attend. With an early start and a larger police presence than other years, the procession gathers.
All of King Edward XI School attends the procession, they started it many years ago. Traditional Morris dancers join the procession, the R.S.C theatre stands behind them, waiting start the procession. Families of the schoolchildren take pictures before they set off. Banners are held by the school with quotes from Shakespeare on.
The procession comes to an end at Stratford-upon-Avon Holy Trinity Church, where flowers are laid out on Shakespeare's grave and the alter by the clergy. Everyone then dispersed and some go to the Crown Plaza by boat.
The public is then allowed in to see the grave.
